Re-imagining Urban Solitude (2020)

This project is a contemplative examination of urban back alleys as an intimate space that defies urban solitude. Back alleys are the part of the city block where the most intimate spaces in our lives overlook: bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies, etc.. Therefore, walking these spaces is an act of social defiance to the enforced urban isolation that resists creating social spaces for neighbours. In this project I take some of my most intimate memories in the city and overlay the space in augmented reality with those images, videos, and sounds, creating a walk that is a condensation of memory and of life in general.
